It takes a village

Dearest Readers of the Saugerties Farmers Market Blog, 

Wouldn’t you feel honored to receive a letter of appreciation in the mail? I know I would. In the past I have received letters, some good, some were bills disguised as appreciation letters… The feeling I remember after opening one of the good letters; the kind of letter from a loved one, that feeling has a place in everyone’s heart. We are a gift giving society, just think about it… the holidays, birthdays, weddings. We love giving and receiving gifts. 

What would you say if I tell you that you are receiving a gift right now? You may be a little confused, let me explain.

The Saugerties Farmers Market Community loves you! We appreciate you! You are the only reason the Market and so many Farmers are successful! 

It seems to me we have a win-win situation between you and the Saugerties Farmers Market. Would you agree? Without you we wouldn’t exists, but without us your loss would be equally tragic! Amazing, fresh, local variety right in your own backyard… there it goes… disappearing before your eyes!

But wait… whats that you say? You do support us? Phew! I got a little caught up there for a second. That’s right, you do support us every time you come visit and every time you rave about us to your neighbor. You support us when you bring that juicy home-grown watermelon to your Friday night potluck and everyone asks where you got it. It’s those nights when you are number one! 

So, we have you hooked (and I’m not talking about hooked on those amazingly juicy watermelons, although they are easy to get hooked on.) Next on the list; stand on one foot and sing the alphabet backwards! Just kidding. On a more serious note, we have so many opportunities for you to continue supporting the Saugerties Farmers Market. Remember it’s in both of our interests to keep up this win-win situation. Right!
